Town Council - Jan 8, 2007

AGENDA
McClellanville Town Council
January 8, 2007 - 7PM

1. Minutes

2. Audit Report for Fiscal Year 2005/2006: John Hyland and Matt Coale from Hyland, Ruddy and Garbett, CPAs, will present the audit report.

3. Public Hearing, consideration of final reading for the proposed "Ordinance to Amend the Code of the Town of McClellanville to Include in Article II of Chapter 7 Thereof Provisions for Maintaining Private Property and Providing for the Statement of Public Nuisances."

4. At the December meeting, Council voted to approve Kathy Livingston for the vacant seat on the Planning Commission. Council will now officially appoint Kathy to this position.

5. Sewee to Santee lease agreement for office space in Town Hall: Mary has a question regarding the insurance requirement in Section 7 of the agreement(please see the copy, enclosed).

6. Sewee to Santee Advisory Committee: At the December meeting, Clay Duffie from Mt. Pleasant Waterworks asked Council to appoint a member for this advisory committee, which will study ongoing water and wastewater issues in our area. Does Council have suggestions as to a possible member?

7. We have had a complaint from resident Greg Frampton about the number and the size of the fireworks that were set off near his house on New Year's Eve. Use of fireworks in town is actually not allowed under our Town Code (see copy, enclosed) but this has not been enforced.

FYI Please see the copy of my letter to SCDOT, regarding a "No Parking" sign for Gene and Nancy Morrison's driveway and also a speed study on Highway 17. I received a call from SCDOT, they said that the study should be complete within a few weeks, and they will advise us of the results.

Zande-Jon Guerry Taylor has sent a copy of the boat landing plans that we can use to bid out the remaining concrete work. These will be available for study at the meeting-I want to be sure that I understand the extent of the work that Council approves.

It's that time of year again-I have enclosed copies of the State Ethics Commission's Statement of Economic Interest forms. These must be filed annually by elected government officials, before April 15. Please file an original and one copy with State Ethics, and keep a copy for yourself. Remember, the fines for late filing are substantial!
