1. Presentation for Priscilla Baldwin, in recognition of her 15 years of service to the Town on the Planning Commission and as a former municipal judge

2. Minutes from the July 2nd meeting of Council and the July 16th joint meeting with the Planning Commission

3. Liz Gilland from the State Forestry Commission will present the Tree City USA award for this year.

4. Public hearings and possible final readings on the following ordinances:
A) "An Ordinance to Amend Chapter 4, Section 4.202 of the Code of the Town of McClellanville Pertaining to Fees Relating to Reviews, Inspections and Construction within the Town"

B)"An Ordinance to Amend the Zoning Map of the Town of McClellanville by Adding Thereto Property Identified by the Charleston County Assessor's Office as TMS Nos. 764-15-00-021 and 764-15-00-043 to and by Designating as the Zoning for Said Property the Historic (H) and Residential (R) Classifications" [This is a do-over from last month, due to a procedural error.]

5. Examination of ballots cast in the informal poll of residents regarding the annexation of property at 9917 N. Highway 17, TMS No. 744-00-00-007.

Public hearing and possible final reading on "An Ordinance to Provide for the Annexation of Property Bearing TMS No. 744-00-00-007 to the Town of McClellanville"

6. Consideration of an ordinance to designate zoning for the above-referenced property, TMS No. 744-00-00-007. The Planning Commission has recommended Residential (R) zoning for the property.

7. Consideration of a resolution by Council to adopt the new building and zoning permit application fees as proposed by the Building Official and the Zoning Administrator (see copy, enclosed)

8. Building Official Paul Fields and Zoning Administrator Kathryn Basha would like to speak to Council regarding some issues encountered with renovation efforts for Old Bethel Church on Drayton St.

9. Please see the memo from Kathryn Basha regarding her efforts to initiate discussion with Charleston County on a Highway Commercial Overlay District. Does Council have any instructions for Kathryn with regard to this action?

10. Bob Gannon would like to report to Council on a possible plan to resurface the driveway that serves Town Hall and the boat landing.

11. Consideration of adoption by Council of the changes made to the Charleston Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan for 2007-2008. (Please see the copy of the summary of changes, enclosed.)

12. The Coastal Coordinator for the SC Sea Grant Consortium has asked that Council declare Saturday, September 15 as "Beach Sweep/River Sweep Day" in McClellanville.

13. Bo Morrison has requested that the Town publish in our Newsletter the letter that he recently sent to the Mayor and Council with his thoughts on local development (see copy, enclosed). Does Council approve that the letter be published? What does Council feel would be an appropriate policy for the Town to follow for publishing similar "letter to the editor"-type submissions?

14. Possible nominations to fill vacant seats on the Architectural Review Board and the Planning Commission

FYI: The filing deadline is September 7th for our Municipal General Election on November 6. Statements of Candidacy will be available at the Town Office, along with the required State Ethics Commission forms. Though the County will be handling our election this year, filing will still take place at the Town Office.

Reminder: Council's public hearing on the proposed "pet ordinance" is scheduled for next Tuesday, August 14th, at 7:00 PM.
