Design Review Board - Oct 9. 2006 |
The McClellanville Design Review Board met on the above-noted date. The time and date of the meeting had been advertised in compliance with state law. Acting Chairwoman Elizabeth Dawson presided and Board Members Jackie Morrison, Suzanne Britt and Sonny Phillips were present. Secretary Marlies Welton was present to record the minutes and Mary Duke, Town Administrator, provided assistance to the Board. Guest present: Mr. Joseph Colleton with one staff member of "Buckshots" take-out restaurant. The meeting was called to order. The Board reviewed the minutes from the September 25, 2006 meeting. Sonny Phillips made the motion to approve the minutes as written; the motion was seconded by Suzanne Britt and carried by unanimous vote. The Board then reviewed the application from Buckshots for the pump/WELL house addition and relocation of handicap ramp on a lot located on 10030 Highway 17 N (TMS #745-00-00-043), McClellanville Highway Commercial District. The Board Members deemed the application in order. Jackie Morrison made a motion to approve seconded by Sonny Phillips. The motion to approve the application was carried by unanimous vote. Mr. Joseph Colleton asked about the procedure for putting up a privacy fence on the side of the building and a deck area in the back of the building for a smoking area for customers. Mary explained to Mr. Colleton that anything visible from the road needs to go before the Design Review Board for approval; therefore, the fence would require approval from the DRB, if the deck is in the rear of the property it would not. Elizabeth then read the order for the addition of the pump/well housing to the restaurant on 10030 Highway 17 N (see Attachment A) and asked members for approval of the order as written to vote "aye" and to signal opposition by voting "nay". The "aye" votes were unanimous. There being no further business, a motion was made, seconded and unanimously approved to adjourn the meeting at 7:20 PM. Respectfully submitted, Marlies E.
