Minutes McClellanville Planning Commission August 6. 2007 The McClellanville Planning Commission met on the above-noted date for the purpose of an abbreviated meeting. Notice of the meeting was advertised in the Charleston Post and Courier. Present at the meeting were: Ginny Prevost, Kathy Livingston, Oliver Thames, and Ted Dawson. Also present was Kathryn Basha, Zoning Administrator and planning consultant for the Town. Chairperson Ginny Prevost presided. The meeting was called to order by G. Prevost at 6:35 pm. Applications for a vacancy, on the Town's Planning Commission, created by the resignation of Priscilla Baldwin, were reviewed and discussed. The Commission asked for clarification as to whether members of the Commission must be residents of the town. Ms. Basha reviewed the ordinance language, which reflects requirements of the SC Planning Enabling Act. A motion to recommend Hayden Geer to Town Council as the appointee for this vacancy was made by Ted Dawson and seconded by Kathy Livingston. Ms. Basha requested whether the Planning Commission could change its meeting date later in the month to the 4th Monday. The Commission decided, based upon there being no urgent business or current plat applications, that the August meeting would be cancelled. The Commission then began a public hearing, at 6:50 pm, to hear public comments on the zoning of two properties on Drayton Street that had recently been annexed into the Town. The Commission proposed zoning these parcels as R1/HD, comparable zoning to that of the adjacent two parcels owned by the same property owners. No members of the public were present to speak on this issue and the public hearing was closed. The Commission then voted unanimously to recommend zoning of TMS 764-15-00-021 and 764-15-00-043 as Residential/Historic District. Kathy Livingston pointed out that it was on Town Council's agenda to approve minutes for the joint meeting they had had with the Planning Commission in June to discuss an overlay district for the HCD and that the dates of that meeting were incorrect. She also noted that the minutes for that meeting were still not clear as to the direction given by Town Council and asked that they be further revised before Town Council approved them. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7 pm so the Planning Commission could attend the Town Council meeting for a presentation to Priscilla Baldwin.
